Vaginal progesterone (Utrogestan capsules, Lutinus tablets, Crinone gel) is standard in Japanese fertility clinics, which have offered IVF under national insurance since 2022. Oral micronized progesterone for menopause (Prometrium) is not marketed here; dydrogesterone (Duphaston) is used instead. Bring your own for a cycle abroad under the 1-month rule.
