Medical Review Process

How our articles are checked before publication: a physician reviews each draft for accuracy and appropriate caveats, the review date is shown, and articles are re-checked at least once a year.

  1. An editor drafts the article with inline citations.
  2. A licensed physician in a relevant specialty reviews the draft for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate caveats.
  3. The editor makes any required changes, and the reviewer confirms them.
  4. The article is published with the review date displayed. The members of the review team are introduced on our team page.
  5. Reviewed articles are re-checked at least annually.

Reviewer profiles list their license, specialty, and affiliations.
