Osmotic laxative

Magnesium oxide (laxative)

Magnesium oxide · マグミット

Magnesium oxide is Japan's first-choice laxative, unlike the polyethylene glycol (MiraLAX) or senna products common abroad. Prescribed as Magmitt 250–500 mg tablets and sold OTC, it is gentle and non-habit-forming. Visitors with kidney disease should ask a pharmacist first.
