The salbutamol rescue inhaler is called Sultanol in Japan (100 mcg per puff, the same as Ventolin). It is prescription-only, but any clinic can prescribe it quickly for a known asthmatic, and emergency departments treat attacks. Bring your inhaler in hand luggage; inhalers are not restricted for import.
